Non Surgical Facelift
One thing that is guaranteed in life, is that we will all age. So why not consider a little help along the way? Using dermal fillers can help reverse the ageing process. Patients who don’t want to go down the surgery route or those who are too young for it can choose to have a Non Surgical Facelift procedure with Dr Anita Dhunna
How does this work and what is the ageing process?
As we age, fat pads in the face begin to deplete, collagen and elastin also starts to disintegrate in the face. As this occurs, the skin which is normally held up by the fat begins to drop. This is why we start to see deep nasolabial lines (nose to mouth) and jowls forming.
The skin beneath the eyebrows also begins to droop and can give the eye lids a very heavy appearance. The temples begin to hollow giving an inward, concave appearance .The eye sockets enlarge due to bone resorption as we age so we start to develop hollowing under the eye forming tear troughs. We also start to notice the chin dipping in and the mouth beginning to droop. As the ageing process continues, we start to develop jowls and a lot of loose skin in the lower part of the face.
Using a combination of approved dermal fillers like those from the Vycross range: Juvederm Voluma, Volux, Volift and Volbella, Dr Anita Dhunna can perform a Non Surgical Facelift by injecting the different types of dermal fillers into the various points of the face which has lost its fat stores. This lifts the skin back up to where it should be which in turn reduces the appearance of sagging skin.
Dr Anita Dhunna uses a combination of needle placements and also a cannula (a blunted ended flexible tube). Using a cannula, Dr Dhunna can sculpt and shape areas of the face without multiple needle points which is more comfortable and reduces the likelihood of bruising and swelling thereafter.
Performing this treatment is no small feat. This is a medical procedure but also an art. Placing the wrong type of dermal filler in one place or too much dermal filler in another will lead to unwanted results like a puffy pillow face or a cat eye appearance.
It is important your doctor has the experience in performing good Non Surgical Facelifts to prevent looking overdone and unnatural.
Dr Anita Dhunna has many years of experience performing a full face Non Surgical Facelift where patients walk out looking refreshed, youthful and a better version of themselves.
Am I suitable for a Non Surgical Facelift?
Having this treatment is subject to your medical history and desired outcomes which would be discussed in depth at your face to face consultation with Dr Anita Dhunna who will make a full assessment of your face at this appointment.
What happens during the treatment?
After your consultation, a bespoke treatment plan is created for your face. Dr Anita Dhunna would sterilise the areas to be treated.
Depending on your bespoke treatment plan, the procedure could be performed in one visit or split up between different appointments if you require more lift and areas to be treated.
Using a combination of Juvederm Voluma, Juvederm Volux, Juvederm Volift and Juvederm Volbella dermal fillers, Dr Anita Dhunna will use different techniques via a needle and cannula to inject the dermal filler into the various part of the face. This will result in instant lift, volumisation and enhancement of the skin of the face. The hollow areas of the temples and the under eyes will now be restored so your skin will appear more luminous instead of dark and sunken. The deep folds and creases of the cheek and laxity around the nose, mouth and chin will be tented back up to its original placement. The jowls around the lower part of the face will be lifted and you’ll have a sharper, tighter, firmer jaw line.
Reversing the ageing process by having the Non Surgical Facelift procedure will turn back the clock many years to give you back a beautiful, natural and a better version of you.
Does it hurt?
The Juvederm range of dermal fillers have lidocaine built into them which is a local anaesthetic. This starts to work immediately upon injecting. Also when using a cannula, it tends to be less painful. For those who are very sensitive, topical anaesthetic cream can be applied before the treatment.
When will I see the results?
The results are seen immediately after the treatment. You may start to notice the results looking even better in a couple of weeks whereby the skin starts to look more hydrated and glowing with a more silkier finish to the face due to the moisturising effects of the hyaluronic acid.
It is safe and what’s the downtime?
As with all medical procedures, there can be complications which would be discussed in person at your consultation. However, when being treated by an experienced Doctor/Dentist, you are less likely to experience these.
You may experience some swelling or bruising that can last a few days. You can limit the bruising by taking Arnica before the treatment and applying Arnica gel after the treatment.
Avoiding alcohol 48 hours before the treatment will also reduce the risk of bruising.
How long do the results last?
Results can last up to 2 years.
