The Ageing Process

the-ageing-processOne thing guaranteed in life is that we all AGE. Externally and internally, ageing is a natural process of life. We are always recommended to eat well, exercise and stay healthy, all in order to slow down this ageing process. Though we can’t necessarily see what is happening on the inside, our appearance starts to give away this process of ageing from the outside.

From those fine lines around the mouth and worry lines getting that little bit deeper to age spots appearing and the skin beginning to look drier and not as plump and firm as it once was; the transition from our 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and onwards becomes more and more obvious, from plump, fresh, smooth looking faces to dull, wrinkled, sagging skin.

A lot is to do with lifestyle; smoking, sun damage, alcohol-just a few things to make the ageing process quicker than it would be normally. These lifestyle choices we can control, however it’s the natural ageing we can’t avoid.

There are many lotions and potions that claim that they can erase the signs of ageing however none work better than injections of Botulinum Toxin A (such as BOTOX®) which have been approved in the treatment of reduction of wrinkles.

Temporary Dermal Fillers, which are made up of Hyaluronic Acid (such as Juvederm, Restylane and Belotero) help revitalise your skin, restoring lost volume, plumping up lines and folds and injecting hydration. They are so versatile they can also be used to reshape weak facial contours such as chins and cheeks as well as for lip reshaping and enhancement.

Medical skin needling using a Dermaroller or Dermapen is a proven technique used to improve wrinkles and scarring on the face caused by acne as well as stretch marks on the body.

Chemical skin peels help the skin by removing dead damaged skin cells and helps improve the look of tired, scarred or sun damaged skin.
