Christmas Kiss Perfect – Lips

Are you hanging up your mistletoe in hopes of that perfect Christmas kiss this year? Perhaps you’ve had your eyes on someone special, or you and your beloved fancy a romantic Christmas this year, with plenty of magical moments! Sounds wonderful – but could your lips do with a cosmetic makeover this Noel? Our lips can become thinner as we age and the cold winter weather doesn’t help – making the skin dry, chapped and rough. Fear not! From her clinics in Bishops Stortford, Hatfield and South Woodford, your festive angel Dr Anita Dhunna has the perfect festive solution. Forget invasive surgery which could leave you with lengthy downtime and lots of swelling and think ‘dermal fillers for the lips’ to enhance your pout for a very special Christmas smooch!

What is a dermal filler lip treatment?

Unlike surgical lip enhancementwhich involves scalpels, sutures and a long recovery time, dermal fillers can be administered in as little as 30 minutes, leaving only cosmetic traces of the treatment taking effect, such as slight bruises, tenderness, redness and a little swelling. Dermal fillers are gel-like substances which contain hyaluronic acid (HA) a synthetic version of a naturally occurring sugar, found in the body, which intensely hydrated the skin tissues and can leave the lips more full, shapely and smooth. Dr Anita Dhunna only uses FDA approved dermal fillers for the lips, such as the Juvéderm range, by Allergan. She offers a range of techniques to suit your individual requirements, whether it’s a subtle enhancement you’re looking for, or a more dramatic, show-stopping augmentation.

Will dermal fillers hurt?

The lips are a very sensitive and vascular area, so before your dermal filler treatment can be administered, Dr Anita Dhunna will apply a numbing cream, so that you feel very little during this treatment. She is also highly skilled in the application of dermal fillers, and will most likely use a cannula, a blunt-ended needle which helps to minimise bruising and swelling. Whichever techniques she decides to use, you can be confident that side-effects will be minimal. However, you may wish to undergo your dermal filler lip treatment, around 2 weeks before the Christmas festivities, to allow for any bruising or swelling to subside.

The magic of a Christmas kiss with a long-term love or new flame, couldn’t be more exciting at this time of year. So, why not give yourself the gift of beautifully shaped, plump and seductive lips, to give you and your beau even more of a thrill this festive season!
