Boost your skin for a glowing complexion this winter

The winter months can play havoc with our skin. Not only could we be experiencing the damaging effects of UV rays that the summer has inflicted, but the biting winds and central heating in the colder months, not to mention lack of vitamin D due to the shorter, darker days can all affect the way our skin looks. From her clinics in South Woodford, Hatfield and Bishops Stortford, Dr Anita Dhunna offers injectable ‘wonders’, when it comes to cosmetic enhancement and rejuvenation for parched, damaged and ageing skin, and these revolutionary treatments now go way beyond traditional Botox® and dermal fillers.

Polynucleotides

A new generation of skin healing and replenishing injectable treatments has emerged on to the aesthetic market and Polynucleotides, though used in medicine for around 35 years, are one of the newest innovations being offered by some of the UKs most prestigious cosmetic medical professionals. Polynucleotides (PN) are forms of biomolecules, comprised of long-chain nucleotides (the vital components of DNA and RNA). These organic substances are ethically extracted from salmon and trout sperm. They are purified and sterilised before administering via injection, and are therefore extremely biocompatible for use in humans.

Polynucleotides not only encourage the new formation of collagen and elastin within the skin, but also stimulate fibroblast activity to promote inner healing and replenishment. Studies have shown that Polynucleotides are not only effective in healing the body (joint and tissue healing) but have proven to be a useful substance which offers extensive repair, healing, moisturisation and rejuvenation of aging and damaged skin. The effects are long lasting and there are little to no side effects or downtime. Polynucleotides can be used on the face, neck, decolletage, upper arms, abdomen and hands, in fact anywhere on the body that is showing the signs of damaged, sagging skin. Treatment may consist of 2 to 3 sessions a month apart, for optimum results.

Dr. Anita Dhunna exclusively offers the most safe and effective polynucleotides products – Plenyhage® XL medium and Plenyhage® XL Strong, Newest and PLINEST – developed in prestigious Italian laboratories.

Light Eyes Ultra – Mesotherapy

The skin surrounding the eyes is considerably more thinner (around 0.5-1mm), compared to other areas of the face, such as the chin, which is around 2.5-3mm thick. Therefore, the eye area is one of the most susceptible, to the signs of ageing, fatigue and damage. Dark circles, lines and wrinkles, skin laxity, hooding and upper and lower eye bags can all contribute to a tired and haggard look around the eyes. Light Eyes Ultra, Mesotherapy offers a highly potent cocktail of hyaluronic acid (HA), antioxidants and botanicals, which have been specifically formulated to benefit the delicate eye area.

Injections are administered to the upper and lower eye areas, to help improve microcirculation, skin rejuvenation and cell repair. Skin elasticity is improved, lines and wrinkles are reduced and dark circles, faded. Light Eyes Ultra can be used holistically with other treatments, such as dermal fillers, as well as after blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) to maximise results and offer a refreshed look of vitality and youth. A course of 4 sessions, 2 weeks apart are usually recommended for optimum results, with top up sessions at around 6 months after the initial course.

To prepare your skin for the winter months and to look and feel your very best for the festive season ahead, it’s not necessary to undergo invasive surgery and to experience lengthy healing downtime. With Dr Anita Dhunna’s years of expertise and discerning choices of the treatments that she offers, you can enjoy refreshed, healed and replenished skin, so you can look and feel your very best this winter.
